My Creative Bookshelf

Books! I love them! All kinds, not just craft ones, but with a passion for being creative comes a passion for buying craft books too. They hold a source of inspiration and when I don’t know what to create next or if I don’t feel like being creative just being inspired I sit and browse through my collection. I must admit that many of these books have not had any projects made out of them but this year I would like to change that. Throughout the rest of this year I will make a project from as many of my books as I can a do a little review as I go. Up first is the Alabama Stitch book so stay tuned to see my plans!

Handmade for Baby

There is something so special seeing a new baby all wrapped up in handmade clothing and blankets. I loved creating things for my new baby and putting them on her when she was born was even more exciting. I have also been blessed by receiving some wonderful handmade gifts from some wonderful people.

My SIL Kathy loves to crochet (and knit too but crochet is her passion you could say) and she gifted this gorgeous little bunny toy to Eve. Isn’t is so very cute!

I also received a beautiful parcel from a group of ladies on Ravelry. This was totally unexpected! I have met a couple of them but some of the others I have not met at all but they got together a created some gorgeous items for my little Eve. Sometimes the generosity of fellow crafters overwhelms me!

Wee Threads Store Open

The store on Made It is back up and running. Now new stock as yet (who has time for that with a 2 week old, a 2 year old and a 3 year old!) but I will get there eventually! I have lots of ideas for winter stock so stay tuned!

Wrapped in love…and yarn!

When some knitting friends found out that Eve had arrived one lady responded with “May she always be wrapped in love…and yarn!” which made me smile so I stole it for the title to this post.

I have blogged this knit before but it isn’t complete until it is filled with a little person! So here is my apricot peach rainbow dress complete with a little Eve!

The gorgeous little booties were made to match by my lovely friend Katy.

Happy Birthday Isla

I can’t believe that my little girl is 2! Although she does seem a lot more grown up since the birth of Eve she is still my baby! We had a quiet one today…a couple of friends for cake this morning and some family during the day. My 2 littlest girls will learn to share some of the birthday attention having their birthdays 12 days apart but I will make sure they each have their own celebration each year. Happy Birthday beautiful girl! We love you very very much.

Introducing Eve Isolde!

She was 9 days late and ended up being evicted due to my blood pressure being a little high. But she is here and healthy and much loved by her sisters! She was 8lb 7oz, the largest of my 3 girls.

Waiting…

I have realised that I am not a very patient person! Waiting is really not much fun especially when while you are waiting you cant sleep, you have to pee every half hour and sometimes it is too painful to walk! Yes I am officially overdue! Baby was due 2 days ago and I am very ready for him/her to come OUT!

Knitting distracts me a little but I keep starting projects that I can take into the hospital and knit after the baby is born (ie easy projects) and I keep finishing them! So off to find something else to cast on today.

Not a lot of sewing happening here…to uncomfortable sitting at the sewing table for too long. I do have a custom order I need to get stuck into though so maybe I should just use that to distract me for a while!

I hope the next time you all hear from me it is to introduce our new addition!
