I am blessed that both of my younger brothers married lovely ladies. I grew up as the only girl in my family and it is lovely to have these ladies in my family. Yesterday we had a family lunch as my sister in law and her little girl were visiting from Perth. Neither of my brothers could make it, one was writing an assignment and the other was on the other side of the country. My girls LOVED playing with their cousin. They often ask for another baby so this was very exciting for them. Little Lucette kept us all entertained and I managed to get a few photos of the day. I can only imagine the adventures these 4 girls will have together as they grow up…along with more cousins that I am sure will be added along the way!
Rainbows!
Oh I do love a rainbow! If you do too you really must check out the showcase happening at the moment at Jodulbug Creations. It is chock full of handmade Rainbow goodies!
I contributed two items, one from each of my businesses (Wee Threads and Sunshine and Raindrops)
The Pinny is sold already but I still have earrings available so pop over and check it out!
Winter Knitting
My needles have been very quiet the past 6 months or so. Partly because of all the sewing I have been doing but also the warmer weather has made me a little less excited to get them out. I am usually one of those crazy knitters who knit ALL the time and a hot day wouldn't stop that but my sewing machines call was very persuasive this summer!
With the weather cooling down I have been thinking about what I would like to knit this winter and my list is long…very long!
I think the first thing on my needles will be a Gwendolyn for Eve…just need to choose the yarn!
Maybe some Mosaic Moon?
Oh and in a few weeks I will be off on girls weekend away with my knitting friends! A whole weekend knitting in front of the fire without my lovely little girls to distract me!
BOO!
So have you heard of BOO! designs before? She is an Aussie designer who designs amazing patterns where you can ‘design you own skirt/overalls/pinny etc’. I have used her Shirred dress pattern, her Twirly Skirt pattern and most recently her Pinny pattern. I love them all!
I must say that the pinny has been my go to pattern for showcases as they seem to get a good response and they are fun to sew!
This is my favourite so far. It was for a showcase but it didn’t sell so I kept it for Eve! She is yet to wear it as I need to buy some items to layer it with as it is way too cold here now!
Isn’t this Echino print just perfect for it!
Pattern- Design you own Pinny by BOO! Designs
Fabric- Echino border print (aprox 1 meter)
Notions- a small amount of elastic
Busy…
That is how I would describe things at the moment.
We sold the house! Finally! It had been on the market for a year and a half and to be honest I don’t think it has really sunk in yet. Maybe when we actually move out it will! I really must get onto that packing though. So far I have sorted my yarn and packed up most of the books in the bookcase.
Most of my time has been spent getting some orders done so I can pack away all my sewing things ready for the move. Well I probably won’t pack everything away just yet but I don’t want to be sewing orders a few days before we move!
And because no blog post is complete without photos here are a few of my favourite items I have sewn lately…I will post again soon with details of pattern and fabrics.
